In October 1996 the Government made an `Private Sector Power generation of Bangladesh' through which barge mounted private powet plant was installed for the first time. Furthermore, in April. 1998 an act was introduced 'Policy Guideline for small power plant' which declared that any investor form private sector can invest for power plant capoacity up to 20 MW with tuge facilities. Tus SAIF Mangement felt encouraged to avail themselves into the power business & SAIF Power generation & Equipments. Ltd. is formed. SAIF Power Generation & Equipment Limited has signed a Power purched agreement with Chittagong City Corporation as IPP for 10 MW. For this plant we have alreasy processed a contract agrement with Mitsubishi heavy Industries Ltd. Japan as the plant supplier. Out plant commissioning tarted date is September 2004 Moreover this Company is engaged to promote more pant to other Entrepreneur who are interested for IPP or Captive Powert plant form Mitsubishi Heavy industries Limited, Japan. We are also the authorized service companu pf mitsubishi small power plant in Bangladesh.
